Valor Mortis Regions

Twelve regions in story order, with the Lantern network and the return trips that are actually worth making.

Confirmed facts on this page carry their sources.

Regions map to chapters but not one-to-one: Chapter 7 spans two of them, and several regions are re-crossed later. Each region page lists its Lanterns, the quests that start there and the collectibles that sit behind later ability gates.

About the region count

Twelve regions are reproducible across sources. One third-party overview references a thirteenth location, but the name and inventory cannot be confirmed, so it is not published as a page.

If you can reach a region that is missing here, send the name and the Lantern you arrived from; a region is one record, so it is a one-line fix.

A practical cross-region order

Return trips are shorter than they look if you group them:

  1. Start with The Battlefield, which you are already passing through.
  2. Group Valley of Ashes with the region before it; the Lanterns are adjacent.
  3. Treat Fallen Village as the mid-game clean-up hub; several Ambers touch it.
  4. Caverns is the densest late-game pocket, so do it in one sweep.
  5. Save Vale of Wrath for last: it closes behind you in the finale.
FAQ

FAQ

Common questions about this topic.

How many regions does Valor Mortis have?

Twelve, spread across eleven chapters. Chapter 7 covers two of them, and the finale area closes behind you.

Are regions connected?

Yes. Lanterns act as the travel network, and abilities like Grappling deliberately re-open routes in regions you have already cleared.

Which region has the most collectibles?

Vale of Wrath is the densest mid-game cluster, and the Fortress has the densest late-game spread.
