What is Valor Mortis?
Valor Mortis is a first-person Soulslike action RPG from One More Level, the Kraków studio behind Ghostrunner, published by Lyrical Games. It launched on 13 October 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it was a day-one Game Pass title. You play William Dowsett, a soldier of Napoleon's army who wakes in a battlefield grave while the Crimson Plague spreads across Europe.
The game is built around parry timing and posture breaks rather than dodges, with a first-person camera and a short flintlock-and-blade toolkit. There are no difficulty options, no optional bosses and about 20 hours on the critical path. This wiki covers the released build and labels anything that is still unconfirmed rather than guessing at it.
The core loop
- Push through a chapter — each of the 11 chapters runs through one or two named regions and ends on a boss.
- Rest at a Lantern — Lanterns are checkpoints, fast-travel nodes and the only place you level up or swap Ambers.
- Spend Catalysts — the currency enemies drop, burned at a Lantern for levels and Transmutation upgrades.
- Pick up Ambers — 28 unique equipment effects, 56 pickup locations, 15 of them upgradeable with duplicates.
- Open the map back up — Grappling in Chapter 3 and each new Transmutation re-open routes in earlier regions, which is why backtracking pays.

The three planners on this site
The wiki is the reference layer; the tools are the decision layer. All three read the same entity records, run entirely in your browser and never ask for an account or a save file.
Progress & Backtrack Planner
Tell it your chapter, unlocked abilities and what you want, and it splits the remaining work into available now, blocked for now, and worth a return trip.
Read guideGuideQuest Choice & Missable Protector
Pick a quest and a decision point and get the warnings, locked consequences, rewards and a save prompt before you answer.
Read guideGuideCompletion Roadmap
Tick off what you have done and get the missing work grouped by what is actually reachable, plus an ordered revisit queue.
Read guideHow the data is structured
Every page and every tool result is generated from one versioned data model, so a recommendation can always be traced back to an entity and a source.
- Regions — order, Lanterns, chapter, entry condition, return gates, source confidence.
- Quests — start location, steps, chapter, choices, rewards, irreversible flag.
- Collectibles and Ambers — type, region, Lantern, gate, quest relation, source confidence.
- Source records — URL, publisher, date checked, evidence type, confidence, conflict notes.

What this site deliberately does not do
The gaps in current Valor Mortis coverage are specific, and this project chooses not to fill them the same way:
- No interactive map clone. Region pages give you a Lantern-anchored route order instead of thousands of pins.
- No Amber build planner, level calculator, account tracker or overlay. Those products already exist elsewhere.
- No invented numbers. No drop rates, DPS tables or hidden stats. Damage figures that are not confirmed are left out.
- No thin pages. Every page has to answer its own question and link into at least one tool or hub.
Why this wiki is verified-first
Anybody can copy a spreadsheet. The promise here is narrower and checkable:
- Every page carries a last-verified date at the top, so you can tell how fresh the data is.
- Confidence is shown, not hidden. Verified, corroborated and single-source are labelled differently.
- Conflicts are documented, not smoothed over. Where sources disagree on a count, the page says so and keeps the disputed entry out of the tools.

Common questions about this topic.
What is Valor Mortis and who made it?
It is a first-person Soulslike action RPG by One More Level, the studio behind Ghostrunner, published by Lyrical Games. It released on 13 October 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as a day-one Game Pass title.
How long is Valor Mortis?
About 20 hours for the critical path, and roughly 15-25 hours for a completion run depending on skill. Trophy guides rate it a 5/10 difficulty.
How many chapters, bosses and regions are there?
11 chapters, 10 story bosses and 12 regions. There are no optional or post-game bosses, and no difficulty options.
Is anything missable in Valor Mortis?
One trophy, Abyssal Eviction, is missable because only two max-level Transmutation materials exist and the trophy needs Shield at level 5. The Choir side quest is also time-limited, but it only rewards a consumable.
Does this site use an interactive map or a build planner?
No. It deliberately avoids cloning a pin-for-pin map, an Amber build planner, a level calculator, an account tracker or an overlay. The utilities here answer a different question: what can I do now, and what should I come back for.
Where does the data on this site come from?
First-party material (official site and store listing) where it exists, then reproducible in-game audit and cross-checked guide sources. Each page lists its sources and a confidence label, and disputed counts are documented instead of guessed.
In which languages is this wiki available?
English, Polish and Spanish. Those two additional languages were chosen from the game's strongest launch markets and from the official localisation set, and in-game proper names keep their original wording.
