Valor Mortis Wiki Hub

The player-run reference for Valor Mortis (One More Level / Lyrical Games), built from sourced records instead of copied walkthroughs.

Confirmed facts on this page carry their sources.

Valor Mortis is a finite single-player game: 11 chapters, 10 bosses, 12 regions, 20 side quests and a closed collectible inventory. That makes it possible to document the whole game rather than a slice of it. Everything below is written for the released build, and anything unconfirmed is labelled.

Core systems

  • Parry and posture — Parry-first combat with a posture bar and unblockable attacks that flash red. Read the guide
  • Lanterns — Checkpoints, fast travel and the only place to level up or swap equipment effects. Read the guide
  • Catalysts — The currency dropped by enemies and lost on death, spent at Lanterns. Read the guide
  • Nephtoglobin — The resource that powers Transmutations; leeching it back is a core combat loop. Read the guide
  • Transmutations — Left-hand powers unlocked through the story: Fire, Stasis and Shield. Read the guide
  • Ambers — Equipment effects that change how you fight rather than flat defensive stats. Read the guide

The data model behind the pages and the tools

The site is generated, not hand-written page by page. One versioned record set feeds the articles, the tables and all three planners, which is what lets a tool result point back at the page that justifies it.

EntityRequired fields
Regionsname, order, Lanterns, chapter, entry condition, return gates, source confidence
Side Questsname, start location, steps, chapter, abilities required, dialogue choices, rewards, irreversible flag, sources
Collectiblestype, unique name, region, Lantern, gate, quest relation, source confidence
Transmutationsname, unlock point, combat function, traversal gate, regions opened, sources
Amberseffect, upgrade path, locations, related quest, acquisition paths
Source recordURL, publisher, date checked, evidence type, confidence, conflict note

If a recommendation cannot be traced to an entity record, it is not shown in the tools.

Inventory conflicts we resolved before publishing

The pre-build research flagged four counts that did not agree between sources. Here is what this site settled on and why:

  • Regions: 12, not 13. One database overview references thirteen locations while another reference states twelve; only twelve region names could be reproduced consistently, so the extra entry is not published as a page.
  • Side quests: 20. One overview lists 24 while the quest-step documentation enumerates 20 with reproducible steps. The 20 that can actually be walked through are the ones published.
  • Ambers: 28 unique across 56 locations, with one disputed extra entry. Duplicate pickups are separated from unique Ambers, because only the 28 uniques matter for the trophy.
  • Weapons: 6 with independent location evidence, not the 9 listed in the original brief. Weapon upgrades are a separate system and are described on the weapon pages.
FAQ

FAQ

Common questions about this topic.

Is this an official wiki?

No. It is an unofficial fan resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by One More Level or Lyrical Games.

Why do some counts differ from other wikis?

Because this site publishes a count only when it can be reproduced. Where sources disagree, the conflict is listed in the audit section above and the uncertain entry is kept out of the tools.

How often is the data re-checked?

Each page carries its last-verified date at the top. Patch-sensitive pages (weapons, bosses, Ambers) are re-checked first after any patch.
