Valor Mortis Weapons
Six weapons with independent location evidence, and the reason the toolkit is small on purpose.
Confirmed facts on this page carry their sources.
Valor Mortis gives you blades and firearms that do different jobs rather than a ladder of better swords. The Saber carries the prologue, the Pistol and Blunderbuss expose weak spots, the Rapier leeches Nephtoglobin and the Claymore clears groups.

About the count
The original brief for this project listed nine pages for weapons. Six weapons could be located independently across sources, so six pages are published here; the higher figure is not reproduced anywhere that could be checked.
Weapon upgrades
Upgrades are a separate system from the weapons themselves, and they are the reason a single weapon usually carries a run:
- Upgrade levels run from 1 to 10 and consume tiered materials.
- Named upgrades change behaviour rather than just numbers — the Rapier's Astute Quarta, for instance, adds Nephtoglobin leech on parry.
- Only a couple of Quintessential materials exist per playthrough, so one weapon realistically reaches the top tiers.
Saber
Starting melee weapon. Fast enough to parry-chain with and good enough to carry the prologue.

Common questions about this topic.
How many weapons are in Valor Mortis?
Six have independent location evidence: Saber, Pistol, Rapier, Blunderbuss, Musket and Claymore. Higher figures in circulation are not reproducible.
Do I need every weapon?
For the Jackknife trophy you need to deal damage with every melee weapon, firearm and Transmutation in a single life, so yes, you need each of them at least once.
Can I miss a weapon?
No. All six are picked up on the story path, and the areas they sit in remain reachable after the finale.
