Valor Mortis Missables

Valor Mortis is generous with missables. Two things need timing, and everything else waits for you.

Confirmed facts on this page carry their sources.

The short version: the game locks no region and no collectible. What it does lock is a single trophy decision and one quest area, and both are easy to handle if you know about them in advance.

Timing-sensitive content

ItemWhen it can be lostRiskFix
Abyssal Eviction (trophy)Only two max-level Transmutation materials existHigh — irreversible upgrade choiceSpend the first max-level material on Shield to level 5, before upgrading anything else
The Choir (side quest)Jail area, available only during Chapter 10Low — one consumableDo it while the chapter is active; no trophy depends on it
Entropy (final region)Closes after a point in the finaleLow — no collectiblesClean up before the last sequence and it never matters
Everything elseNo region or collectible lockout existsNoneFinish it in free roam after the final boss

A safe order for the two risky items

  1. Reach Chapter 8 and unlock Shield.
  2. Take Shield to level 5 with the first Quintessential Transmutation Material; this alone locks in the trophy.
  3. Spend everything else however you like, including a maxed melee weapon.
  4. Complete The Choir during Chapter 10 for the consumable, and do not worry if you skip it.

Check before you commit

The Choice Protector tracks the missable trophy, the timed quest and every quest with a dialogue branch, so you can look at the consequences before you answer.

Anything described as missable elsewhere but not listed above is either repeatable or reachable after the story.

FAQ

FAQ

Common questions about this topic.

What is the only missable trophy?

Abyssal Eviction, which requires the Shield Transmutation at level 5 while only two max-level Transmutation materials exist in the whole game.

Can I lose a side quest?

Only The Choir, and only because its jail area exists solely during Chapter 10. Its reward is a single consumable, so nothing else is at stake.

Do I need to rush anything else?

No. Regions stay open, collectibles stay collectable, and the only closing area is Entropy in the finale.
